Protesters Brave Cold To Oppose Trump Policies

Protesters gathered in various cities across the U.S. on Presidents Day to voice their opposition to President Donald Trump and his policies. Braving frigid temperatures, demonstrators in East Coast cities chanted “No kings on Presidents Day” while others in Arizona attempted to enter the Statehouse to oppose a bill related to federal immigration enforcement.

In Florida and California, hundreds of protesters participated in “Not my Presidents Day” demonstrations. The protests were organized by the 50501 Movement and marked the second wave of nationwide protests in less than two weeks. Participants in cities across the country denounced President Trump and his advisor Elon Musk, who leads the Department of Government Efficiency.

In Boston, nearly 1,000 people marched from the Statehouse to City Hall in snowy conditions, chanting slogans against Elon Musk and carrying signs with messages such as “This is a Coup” and “Cowards Bow to Trump, Patriots Stand Up.” The protesters, some dressed in Revolutionary War-style clothing, emphasized the importance of standing up for American values.

Organizers of the protests, which took place in state capitals and major cities like Washington, D.C., Orlando, and Seattle, aimed to highlight what they described as “anti-democratic and illegal actions of the Trump administration and its plutocratic allies.” Signs at the rallies called for the deportation of Elon Musk and the removal of President Trump from office.

In Phoenix, protesters gathered in front of the Capitol to oppose legislation related to federal immigration policy. Security prevented some protesters from entering the building, leading to a peaceful demonstration as organizers emphasized the importance of maintaining civility.
