Organizers of the demonstrations at Emory University on Thursday have accused law enforcement of being responsible for what they describe as protesters being 'indiscriminately attacked' during an encampment on campus.
In a statement released, the organizers pointed fingers at the Georgia State Patrol, Atlanta Police Department, and Emory Police Department, holding them accountable for what they labeled as an 'overt act of terrorism.'
The demonstrators have vowed to persist in their demand for Emory University to completely divest from all programs that they believe support Israeli apartheid. Additionally, they are calling for an end to what they perceive as police brutality and are demanding the immediate release of all activists who were arrested.
Despite what the organizers claim as violence being sanctioned by Emory President Greg Fenves and Dean of Campus Life Enku Gelaye, the protesters are continuing their activities on campus and are urging the wider Atlanta community to join them in their cause.
