Prosecutor Reveals New Charge In Trump Organization CFO Case

Trump Organization's Former CFO Weisselberg appears in criminal court in New York

In a recent court session, Joshua Steinglass presented a transcript of Michael Cohen's testimony regarding a meeting with Donald Trump in February 2017. Cohen stated that during the meeting at the Oval Office, Trump instructed him to ensure he worked with Allen Weisselberg, the CFO of the Trump Organization, and mentioned that there would be a check coming for January and February.

Steinglass highlighted that Cohen also mentioned discussions about a retainer agreement, but the intention was always to disguise the reimbursement as income. The prosecutor made a sarcastic remark suggesting that creating a fake retainer document could provide them with more cover.

Furthermore, the prosecutor informed the jury that they would now be considering 35 counts instead of the initial 34, as there was another falsified business record to take into account.
