During the trial, Prosecutor Joshua Steinglass presented key excerpts from Michael Cohen's testimony regarding the infamous Trump Tower meeting. Cohen confirmed that the meeting was referred to as a retainer agreement in the presence of Donald Trump.
Cohen further testified that he, along with former Trump Organization CFO Allen Weisselberg, sought Trump's approval on a repayment plan. According to Cohen, Trump not only approved the plan but also remarked, 'This is going to be one heck of a ride in DC.'
Steinglass emphasized that it is not necessary to prove that Trump personally fabricated the false entries in question. He asserted that Trump could be held accountable for false business records if he either makes or causes false entries in his business records. Steinglass pointed to what he described as a 'reimbursement scheme,' stating unequivocally that it leads to the creation of false entries.
