Prosecutor Makes Decision on Assault Charge Against Davante Adams From October Game

A Kansas City prosecutor dismissed the misdemeanor assault charge against Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams stemming from him shoving a video production crew member at Arrowhead Stadium last season, Benita Jones, a spokeswoman for the Kansas City Municipal Court told The Kansas City Star on Friday.

The charge was officially dismissed on June 5 and the case is now considered closed.

The altercation between Adams and Paul Zebley, the video production crew member, occurred after a 30–29 loss to the Chiefs on Monday Night Football. The police report alleged that Adams pushed Zebley to the ground, “causing whiplash and headache and a possible minor concussion.” Zebley filed the police report after being taken to the hospital for evaluation.

Adams apologized on social media after the game.

“Sorry to the guy I pushed over after the game,” Adams tweeted. “Obviously very frustrated at the way the game ended and when he ran in front of me as I exited that was my reaction and I felt horrible immediately. That’s not me..MY APOLOGIES man hope you see this.”

Zebley filed a subsequent civil suit against Adams, which remains pending.
