Property firm Wise Living and developer Countryside have agreed a partnership to deliver a new £30m housing scheme that will deliver almost 100 homes on the northern edge of Bristol.
The build-to-rent development will form part of a huge new neighbourhood planned for land around the Cribbs Causeway area.
Some 5,700 homes, around 50 hectares of employment land, open spaces and infrastructure including a dedicated MetroBus route are planned for the project - known as the Cribbs Patchway New Neighbourhood (CPNN) - over the coming years.
Wise Living and Countryside said the deal - completed in just under six weeks - would help provide a total of 97 homes, including a mix of one-to-four-bed properties.
Nottingham-based Wise Living, which will manage and maintain the properties one they are completed, said the agreement formed part of its expansion plans for the South West, where it aims to secure more than 500 build-to-rent homes, to support a target of building 2,000 homes a year nationally.
Katie Stamper, partnerships manager in the South West at Wise Living, said: “Working with Countryside on this has been a truly collaborative approach and we are delighted to have been able to swiftly combine our expertise to agree on and deliver what will be an exceptional development for private rental in the area - providing the community here with fantastic homes designed with families and professionals in mind."
Darren Dancey, Countryside’s managing director in the South West, added: “We are delighted to have partnered with Wise Living to deliver much-needed homes for private rental at our Cribbs Causeway site near Bristol.
“We are extremely proud of the collaborative relationship we have developed with Wise Living, working hard to complete this exciting deal in record time.”
In May a joint venture between construction firms Bellway South West and Taylor Wimpey was given the go ahead to build 382 new homes on land off Cribbs Causeway, with plans to deliver a total of 760 homes near the out-of-town shopping centre.
In April, YTL Developments published revised plans for thousands of more homes for its vast Brabazon neighbourhood planned for the former Filton Airfield site in the area.
The Malaysia-based firm already has planning permission to transform the site into a community of 2,675 homes while it also has consent to turn the Brabazon Hangars – where every UK Concorde was built – into a 17,000 capacity arena.
Construction of the venue is expected to begin this year, while detailed proposals for a new train station and a 14-acre urban park are also being considered.
