Property firm George F White opens seventh office in Northumberland expansion

Property consultancy George F. White has expanded its North East footprint by opening its seventh office in Hexham.

The company’s expansion into Wentworth House, Wentworth Park, follows a period of substantial growth amid a booming housing sector, and will help to meet the growing demand it is seeing in the Northumberland area. Directors at George F. White said its new presence in Hexham will allow it to build upon the wide range of businesses it provides advice to, as part of its ongoing expansion.

The company has a team of specialists working across the rural, planning and development and commercial sectors at the Hexham base, including partners Tim Michie, Elliot Taylor, Craig Ross and Gary Robinson, and it is looking to grow the team in the coming months. It is also launching its residential property service in Hexham due to the high demand for homes in the area, after being named as the happiest place to live in the UK by property search giant Rightmove.

Managing director, Sally Hart, said: “We’re in an exciting period of growth and I’m delighted to see this new location open as we have an increasing client base in Hexham and the surrounding Tyne Valley, Cumbria and Western Scotland, particularly across our rural, planning and development and commercial sectors. It also puts us in the best position to take advantage of new opportunities, alongside our expansion into the residential property sector.”

Associate Ed Seymour, who is the key residential valuer for the Hexham office, said: “Having worked in the Tyne Valley for the last few years, it is my experience that Hexham is a hugely popular place to live.

“The accolade from Rightmove, the second time it’s been named as the happiest place to live, is well deserved and will have played a part in the rise in interest from people looking to relocate to the area. With the uptake in flexible working, Hexham is likely to be popular as it’s well linked to Newcastle Upon Tyne, however, it retains its country charm with picturesque views, and quieter way of life.”

George F White has several offices across the region including Alnwick, Berwick, Newcastle and Durham, providing land and property services including residential sales and lettings services. It also has branches in Barnard Castle, County Durham, and Bedale in North Yorkshire, and at the start of the year it acquired Tyne and Tweed estate agents in Berwick.
