North East property company Pattinson Estate Agents is expanding overseas, to launch its auction services in Spain through its sister brand.
The Wallsend firm, launched by Keith Pattinson in 1977, now operates 27 branches across the North East alongside its successful Pattinson Auction division, which now has a UK portfolio of almost 3,000 partner agents. The founders have highlighted how Pattinson has 30 years of auction experience, making it the original pioneer of the ‘modern method of auction’, for agents and property owners.
The company is officially launching its operations in Marbella, Spain, giving estate agents in Spain the ability to have their very own auction department, offering clients a 0% sales fee, with immediate exchange of contracts and completion in 12 weeks. Auction director Justin Beckwith, who is leading the international expansion, said the company is looking for Spanish estate agents to partner with Pattinson Auction and Pattinson International.

He said teaming up will give them the opportunity to increase their revenue and network without the stress and expense of hiring additional staff, increasing office space and paying for new software. Everything is included, along with a branded auction website and other marketing materials, tailored to their existing brand.
He said: “We initially came up with the idea of expanding into Spain as a result of multiple requests from buyers and sellers, asking us if we sell property in Spain, or if we have any properties available to buy in Spain. We are also aware that property transactions can be quite clunky, and with the added benefit of transparency, speed, and readily available legal information that can be provided for auction sales, we would be able to provide a much more streamlined and efficient way of transacting.”
Cristian Ortas, the new business development manager operating in Spain, said: “I have been selling property in Spain for many years and the property business is my absolute passion. Many agents recognise the enormous benefits of partnering with us, and subsequently gaining access to an increased network of buyers and sellers, offering a secure sale process that reduces fall-throughs. It will offer progressive agents success, and the partnership gives opportunities to sell more properties which will improve market share. I am enjoying meeting like-minded agents and I am excited at the potential growth.”
The official launch will be on April 5 at the Don Pepe Hotel in Marbella, Spain.
