'Proper Football Manager Scenes' - Notts County praised for signing of forgotten Nottingham Forest man

Notts County's loan signing of Harry Arter has been described as "wild" and something out of a game as Nottingham Forest fans react to the transfer of their forgotten midfielder.

Arter has found himself the victim of an extraordinary fall from grace since he moved to Forest from Bournemouth under Chris Hughton in the summer of 2020 but has been given a lifeline by joining County on-loan until May.

Despite a change in manager at the City Ground, Arter's opportunities have not improved under Steve Cooper and he has found himself to not be in the first-team picture for some time.

The ex-Cherries midfielder has played 14 times in the Garibaldi since his summer move, although the last time he featured was in the 1-0 FA Cup win over Cardiff City 12 months ago. He signed a three year deal when he moved to Trentside - which is due to expire summer 2023 - but he has been surplus to requirement for some time.

Arter joined League One outfit Charlton Athletic at the start of the season but injuries meant he was unavailable for a long time and - having made just four appearances in the league - his loan spell was cut short in January.

After his return, Reds boss Cooper said he would not be part of his plans : "He’s not involved with the first-team at the moment. I know his loan is up at Charlton. The club are in discussions with him about what’s next, but he’s not one, at the moment, that we’re intending to involve."

This is what Nottingham Forest fans had to say on social media after Arter's loan move was announced...
