An exciting new band hailing from Livingston are set to play a sold-out hometown gig at the Livingston Football Club stadium bar next month on March 11.
The Katuns announced the homecoming gig recently with a promise of new music and an afterparty for guests.
This announcement comes as the first of many gigs from the rising Livingston four-piece, with Edinburgh’s club venue, Sneaky Pete’s, set to be the next due to the amounting excitement from fans.
The Katuns started practicing together at the tail end of 2019 in Edinburgh, before landing their first two gigs pre-pandemic: a sold-out King Tut’s show supporting popular Wigan band, The Lathums, as well as a support slot at Glasgow’s St. Luke’s for the indie Fifers, Shambolics.
The two shows came as a phenomenal start before lockdown brought everything to a halt, leading the band to begin uploading covers from their bedroom onto social media sites like Twitter and Facebook, which gained over 26,000 hits.
In August 2020, The Katuns released their debut single ‘Friend Like You’ which has racked up over 30,000 streams on Spotify and instantly clicked with listeners who gained an instant liking to the energetic indie anthem.
Since then, The Katuns have released a diverse catalogue of music, taking inspiration from the likes of The Strokes and Arctic Monkeys to create innovative and catchy songs for their fans.
After a couple of years relentlessly playing shows across the UK, such as Isle of Wight Festival, Tenement Trail; and a support slot at Glasgow’s famous venue, Barrowland Ballroom where they opened for Edinburgh indie band, Vistas,
The Katuns are preparing to release their debut EP this year, with the first single on its way “very soon” – the band tease.
The Katuns play a sold-out Livingston Stadium Bar on 11th March. Tickets for their Sneaky Pete’s show on April 2 are on sale now.
