Two prominent Republican supporters of President Joe Biden and vocal critics of Donald Trump will be among the guests at the Biden campaign’s news conference focused on democracy in Atlanta Wednesday afternoon, an official confirmed.
Former Rep. Adam Kinzinger and former Georgia Lt. Gov. Geoff Duncan are set to participate in the event, as the campaign aims to highlight differences with Trump on democracy. Kinzinger recently endorsed Biden, while Duncan announced his support for the president last month.
Harry Dunn, a former US Capitol police officer who was present during the January 6, 2021 Capitol attack, will also be present at the conference.
The Biden campaign has emphasized democracy, along with issues such as abortion rights and the economy, as key points of contrast for the president leading up to his upcoming debate with Trump.
The campaign is specifically targeting anti-Trump Republicans who have been disillusioned by the former president's tenure, particularly his involvement in the events of January 6.
