A professional wrestler has been arrested after being accused of killing his wife and dumping her body.
The body of Ellida Tuane Ferreira da Silva Santos was found in São Paulo City, Brazil, after she went missing.
Her husband Luis Paulo Lima dos Santos, 44, a former wrestler and gym owner, is accused of shooting her four times in their apartment.
He is suspected of dumping her tied body and filing a fake missing person report.
The body of tragic Ellida, 26, who has a six-month-old son with him, was found on the east side of the city, on Monday.
According to reports, the corpse was found wrapped in a sheet and tied with rope at her feet and hands.
Her husband was arrested on 9 November and accused of killing her on November 4.
On the day of the alleged murder, the suspect even filed a missing person’s report to throw off the investigation.
The former pro-fighter claimed that his wife had left town by bus to travel to her mother’s house in the nearby city of Campinas and disappeared en route.
The police said the crime was motivated by jealousy but did not provide any further details.
Police chief Bruno Cogan said: “There are indications that it was because of jealousy, but it still needs to be investigated in depth.”
CCTV footage has emerged of the victim’s final images alive as well as the suspect appearing to remove the dead body from the apartment building in a trolley the next day.
In the images, Ellida is seen entering the lift at 9.30pm on the day of her murder.
Neighbours told the police that they heard gunshots that night, but no one reported it to the police.
CCTV images from the following day (5 November) show the suspect entering the building with an empty trolley at around 9 pm.
Four minutes later, he reappears in the lift with the trolley full of bed sheets.
According to the police, Ellida’s body was probably hidden underneath the sheets.
He is then seen entering the building’s car park with the trolley, which he took to his car.
The suspect was recorded leaving the building in his vehicle in the early hours of 6 November, and he returned four hours later with the couple’s son.
They had been married for about a year.
The police are continuing to look for the murder weapon as the investigation continues.
The Mirror reported 26-year-old missing woman's body had been found with her limbs tied after leaving home to visit her mum.
According to family members, the victim went missing at around 8pm two days earlier after leaving for the Tiete Bus Station in the district of Vila Guilherme.
She was planning to meet her husband and six-month-old son at her mother’s house in Campinas.
However, Ellida never made it there.
