Professional services firm Turner & Townsend has opened a new office in Plymouth.
The business, which will be based in the Genesis Building on Union Street, said its new base would support the growth of the company in the South West as it looks to attract new clients across Devon, Dorset and Cornwall.
Turner & Townsend already employs more than 460 people in the South West, including 40 in the Plymouth area, and has worked with clients in the region for over 30 years.
Trefor Evans, director in Turner & Townsend’s Bristol office, said: “Turner & Townsend has operated in the South West for over 30 years and this latest expansion represents our ongoing commitment to the people and businesses of Plymouth and the wider region. Having a permanent presence in the city will enable us to further enhance our service offering for clients across infrastructure, defence and real estate."
The new office is owned by social enterprise Millfields Trust, which invests the profits from leasing the office back into the local community through a programme of regeneration projects.
Mr Evans added: "As a business that is green, inclusive and productive at its core, the Genesis Building is a natural fit for us and we are pleased to be investing in the local community through the Millfields Trust social enterprise.”
Turner & Townsend said it would be targeting new recruits in the region as it expanded its services in project and programme management, project controls, procurement, and cost and commercial management, to support clients across real estate, infrastructure and defence.
