Another day, another fashion collaboration. The latest companies to join forces are minimalist New York-based label Proenza Schouler and skateboard authority Vans. The pair created a slightly elevated version of Vans' classic slip-on sneaker. While both have distinct heritages that appear to be on opposite sides of the track, the unexpected union managed to pull off the Puffy Slip-On, a soft-leather shoe that features Proenza Schouler's custom footbed and polished, glossed sidewalls. The slip-on comes in three colorways: ecru, black and resin. "Shared appreciation for strong design and fine craftsmanship informed the project from beginning to end," says Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, creative directors and co-founders of Proenza Schouler.
In the advertising campaign photographed by Alessio Bolzoni, who's worked with the likes of Miu Miu, the bottom half of models' legs are seen wearing different colors from the collaboration. Some were styled with casual staples like cargo pants, while others were paired with sophisticated pieces like leather pants perfectly embodying both downtown luxury and free-spirited streetwear.
Be sure to shop the Vans x Proenza Schouler Puffy Slip-On for $200 a pop. You can purchase the black and ecru colorways on Vans and Proenza Schouler's websites. The resin slip-ons are exclusively sold on Proenza Schouler's website and through its New York City flagship store.
