Wonder Workshop, makers of the award-winning Dash robot, have created the Make Wonder platform to make it easier than ever to teach coding for teachers of all experience levels. The software is designed to be user-friendly and enables teachers to easily create a comprehensive coding curriculum using pre-built lessons and activities. “Wonder Workshop can be counted on to deliver best-in-class solutions for districts looking to implement a system-wide approach to technology integration that fosters transformational STEM teaching and learning,” says Natasha Mitchell, Director of Virtual Learning & Gifted Education for St. Louis Public Schools.
With Make Wonder, teachers can guide students through coding adventures with Dash, the robot, in both virtual and real-world settings.
Make Wonder: Unlock the Power of Virtual Dash
With a Make Wonder subscription, students gain access to a virtual Dash robot inside of the Blockly programming app, providing them with a unique 1:1 coding and robotics experience. This feature allows students to program Dash on screen, offering an interactive and engaging way to learn coding fundamentals that they can then test out on a physical Dash afterwards. The virtual environment replicates the experience of using a physical robot, ensuring that every student can participate in hands-on learning, regardless of classroom resources.
Your Hub for Lessons, Activities, and Resources
Make Wonder’s Coding Pathways lessons are carefully designed to align with standards and cover code.org levels A-F. These multimedia lessons are supplemented by 60 math activities for grades 3-5, which reinforce both coding and math skills, making the learning process holistic and integrated. Additionally, teachers can utilize 72 coding challenge cards and cross-curricular lesson plans that promote critical thinking, collaboration, and creativity among students.
Student Accounts and Progress Tracking
With Make Wonder, each student can create their own profile, allowing the students to maintain their own progress through the coding challenges and activities inside of Blockly. The platform’s extensive progress trackers provide teachers with valuable insights into student performance, helping them tailor support to meet individual learning needs. Teachers also benefit from robust classroom management tools, including quick setup options like Google Classroom integration and personalized features such as the Read Aloud function for early readers.
