Producers Guild Of America Announces Winners Of 35Th Annual Awards

Writers Guild of America strike deadline looms in Atlanta

The Producers Guild of America recently revealed the winners of various categories at the 35th Annual PGA Awards. Among the highlights were the awards for innovation short form categories.

The team behind Body of Mine clinched the prestigious PGA Innovation Award, while the team responsible for Succession: Controlling the Narrative secured the outstanding short form program award.

The announcement took place during the PGA's west coast celebration at Members restaurant in West Hollywood. This event marked the second in a series of bi-coastal gatherings leading up to the main PGA Awards ceremony next week.

Earlier in the week, the guild honored the creators of Beckham (season one) with the outstanding sports program award and recognized the team behind Sesame Street (season five, episode three) for outstanding children's programming.

The PGA Innovation Award specifically acknowledges the production of a groundbreaking new media program that significantly enhances the audience's viewing experience. The nominees for this year included a diverse range of innovative projects released between Jan. 1, 2023, and Dec. 31, 2023.

Noteworthy nominees for the PGA Innovation Award included The EYE AND I, JFK Memento, and Ocean of Light: Dolphins VR, among others. The award is presented to the production as a whole, rather than individual producers, and past recipients have included notable works like Vader Immortal: A Star Wars VR Series – Episode 1 and For All Mankind: Time Capsule.

The full list of winners will be unveiled at a ceremony on Feb. 25 at the Ray Dolby Ballroom, where industry luminaries like Martin Scorsese and Charles D. King will be honored with prestigious awards.

Additionally, the PGA Awards will recognize outstanding achievements in various categories such as theatrical motion pictures, animated films, episodic television, and non-fiction programming. The event promises to be a celebration of excellence across the entertainment industry.
