In a move to bring pressure on the Union Government to procure paddy from Telangana, resolutions are being passed by local bodies and are being sent to New Delhi
As part of that, the general body meetings of Sangarddy, Siddipet and Medak Zilla Parishats held on Wednesday passed unanimous resolutions in this regard. All the members present in the House extended support to this resolution.
At Sangareddy the ZP meeting was presided by Zilla Parishat chairperson P Manjusri Jaipal Reddy, while chairperson V. Roja Sharma presided at Siddipet. At Medak the meeting was presided over by chairperson R. Hemalatha Shekhar Goud
“With very hard work and huge investments, the Telangana State was able to complete mighty irrigation projects like Kaleshwaram. Farmers are getting irritation water and they have cultivated paddy in large quantity. Now it was the responsibility of the Centre to procure entire paddy from the state. Centre must procure paddy from the state till the last grain,” said the resolution passed in the general body meeting introduced by vice- chairman Raju Reddy at Siddipet.
Similar resolutions were passed at Sangareddy and Medak Zilla Parishat meetings.
