A third straight lay day has been called for the World Surf League event in El Salvador after some "problematic" weather hit overnight.
Organisers had been hopeful of getting competition underway on Wednesday, but that has been put on hold for at least another day.
"We are looking to run in the next couple of days," WSL head of competition Jessi Miley-Dyer said.
"There was some weather last night that's been problematic for here, but there is swell coming.
"The promise for tomorrow is that we will have bigger waves."
Competition will take place at the famed right-hand point break known as Punta Roca, also referred to as La Punta or Punta Chilama.
It's the first time a Championship Tour event has been held in El Salvador.
Two-time world champion Tyler Wright didn't travel to El Salvador after experiencing complications from her recent bout of COVID-19.
It means world No.4 Wright is likely to slip out of the top five, but she will have three events after the El Salvador Pro to claw back up the rankings.
Only the top five surfers qualify for the season-ending finals in California.
Eleven-time world champion Kelly Slater also withdrew from the El Salvador Pro due to a mystery injury, while John John Florence is out with a knee injury.
