Pro-Trump Lawyer Arrested For Leaking Dominion Voting Systems Emails

Habba, lawyer of former U.S. President Trump, departs outside Trump Tower in New York

A pro-Trump lawyer, Stefanie Lambert, was arrested on Monday following a court hearing regarding her recent leak of internal emails belonging to Dominion Voting Systems. Lambert had an existing arrest warrant for failing to appear at court hearings in her separate criminal case in Michigan, where she was charged with conspiring to seize voting machines after the 2020 election.

Lambert and a group of election deniers have disrupted one of Dominion's defamation lawsuits by publicly leaking thousands of internal emails, reviving false claims about voter fraud. The controversy escalated when Lambert provided confidential Dominion documents to Barry County Sheriff Dar Leaf, who has promoted conspiracy theories about the 2020 election.

Lambert, representing former Overstock CEO Patrick Byrne in a defamation case against Dominion, had access to the leaked files. The US Marshals Service confirmed Lambert's arrest, stating she is being held on local charges related to her Michigan case.

The leaked Dominion documents have diverted attention from the defamation case, leading to concerns about the safety of Dominion employees who are now receiving death threats. During a hearing, the judge restricted Lambert from accessing the Dominion database and ordered a future hearing to address the leak.

Dominion refuted claims of Serbian meddling in the election, calling them false and xenophobic. Lambert admitted to giving the materials to law enforcement, alleging foreign interference in the 2020 election. Dominion accused Lambert and Byrne of spreading lies and using lawsuits for misinformation.

Domnion is also suing other pro-Trump figures, including Rudy Giuliani and Sidney Powell, for similar false claims about the 2020 election. The company settled a defamation suit against Fox News last year for $787 million, marking the largest publicly known defamation settlement in US history.
