Pro-Palestine protestor chained to goalposts causes Scotland vs Israel delay

Scotland vs Israel was this evening delayed after a pro-Palestinian protestor chained themselves to the goalpost at Hampden.

The match is being played behind closed doors at the stadium in Glasgow following intelligence over “planned disruptions”.

Campaigners and charities including Show Israel the Red Card and Scottish Friends of Palestine held a protest outside the stadium on Friday calling for an immediate ceasefire.

Inside the ground, despite a hefty police and security presence outside, someone managed to gain entry to the stadium and attach themselves to the goalposts.

In photos provided by PA, the protestor could be seen tied to the goalpost with a chain around his neck.

The man's t-shirt reads: "Red card for Israel."

The friendly match was due to kick-off at 7.05pm. The protestor was removed from the scene at 7.20pm, with the game eventually getting underway at 7.35pm.

More to follow.
