Pro-Palestine protesters host 'sit-in' at Glasgow Queen Street station

PROTESTERS gathered at Glasgow Queen Street station on Monday at rush hour calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.

Organised through social media by Art Workers for Palestine Scotland, the demonstration lasted for an hour with a series of chants including “Be free Palestine” and “Resistance is justified when the UK supports genocide”.

The action was concluded with a minute's silence for all those killed in the Israel-Hamas War.

Commuters passed the protest with many joining in on  the sit-down.

One participant said further local protests would be held at short notice.

They encouraged Scots to show their support by organising and turning out in cities north of England rather than travelling to London to take part in what is expected to be large protests over the weekend.
