Pro-Palestine Protesters Gather In Tokyo's Shibuya Crossing

Palestine protest

Hundreds of protesters gathered near Tokyo's Shibuya Crossing on Monday, displaying 'Free Palestine' banners and waving Palestinian flags in a show of solidarity. The iconic crosswalk was transformed into a scene of activism as demonstrators voiced their support for the Palestinian cause.

An energetic atmosphere prevailed as organizers set up a stage for DJs to play dance music, adding to the vibrant ambiance. The crowd enthusiastically chanted 'Free Free Palestine' in English, amplifying their message for onlookers and passersby.

Among the activists was Hanin Siam, a Gaza-born individual who shared videos on Instagram capturing the spirited gathering. The event served as a platform for individuals like Siam to express their connection to the Palestinian territories and advocate for peace and justice.

Notably, multiple protests unfolded across Tokyo on the same day, underscoring the widespread support for the Palestinian cause. In addition to the demonstration at Shibuya, a No War March and a gathering at the International Christian University also took place, each drawing attention to the ongoing conflict in Gaza.

The toll of the recent Israeli attacks in Gaza has been devastating, with reports indicating that 34,735 Palestinians have lost their lives and 78,108 others have been injured, as reported by the Ministry of Health in the region. However, due to restricted media access to Gaza, these figures remain unverifiable by independent sources.
