Pro-Palestine activists target Allianz offices in Glasgow

A GLASGOW building has been damaged in an early morning act of vandalism.

The large front door of a city centre office building appears to have been smashed.

Police Scotland has confirmed they were called to the scene at 2.30am this morning and an investigation has been launched.

Among others, Allianz, a business and personal insurance company, has offices at the site.

The action is understood to be a coordinated effort by activists, targeting the firm

On X, Palestine Action said: "We targeted multiple Allianz offices overnight, including their base in Glasgow. "Until the insurance giant stops enabling Israel's biggest weapons firm, they must expect us."

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 2.30am on Friday, April 18, 2024, police received a report of vandalism at a property in Waterloo Street, Glasgow.

"Enquiries are ongoing."
