Pro-Israel Democrat Group Endorses Challengers Against Controversial Squad Members

A pro-Israel Democrat group, the Democratic Majority for Israel PAC, has endorsed challengers George Latimer and Wesley Bell in their upcoming primaries against controversial far-left 'Squad' members Rep. Jamaal Bowman and Rep. Cori Bush. This move comes as part of a broader effort to target the 'Squad' members over their contentious comments regarding Israel.

Last week, the Jewish Democratic Council of America also endorsed opponents of Bowman and Bush, marking the first time they have supported challengers to House Democrats. The push to oust Bowman and Bush stems from their controversial remarks and actions related to Israel, which have sparked criticism from various groups.

Rep. Cori Bush accused Israel of engaging in an 'ethnic cleansing campaign' following Hamas' attack on Israel, claiming that Israel targeted hospitals and committed war crimes against Palestinians in Gaza. She called for the U.S. to stop funding what she referred to as 'atrocities against Palestinians.'

Meanwhile, Rep. Jamaal Bowman faced backlash for dismissing reports of Israeli women being raped by Hamas terrorists as 'propaganda.' He later backtracked on his statement after evidence emerged of sexual assaults during the Hamas attack, emphasizing his stance against sexual violence and support for peace.

Bowman has also come under fire for defending a mural of Nation of Islam Minister Louis Farrakhan, known for making anti-Semitic remarks. Additionally, both Bowman and Bush, along with other Squad members, boycotted Israeli President Isaac Herzog's speech to Congress in protest of alleged human rights abuses against Palestinians.

The endorsements of Latimer and Bell by pro-Israel groups signal a growing effort to challenge the positions and rhetoric of certain 'Squad' members within the Democratic Party, particularly concerning their views on Israel and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
