Pro-independence campaign launches crowdfunder for major rallies in 2025

A PRO-INDEPENDENCE campaign group has launched a crowdfunder to support 2025’s marching and rallies.

All Under One Banner (AUOB) said it was looking to raise £10,000 in order to fund three large-scale Yes demonstrations this year.

These pro-independence events will include marches followed by rallies with speakers and music.

The schedule currently is for a rally in Glasgow on Saturday May 3, in Stirling on Saturday June 21, and in Edinburgh on Saturday September 6.

Launching the crowdfunder, AUOB said it has to date held “42 mass mobilisations for the cause, on an annual basis, since the organisation was started in October 2014” in the wake of the Unionist victory in the independence referendum.

In an appeal for donations “both large and small”, AUOB’s national committee said it was “vital that independence supporters sustainably take to Scotland's streets, marching all under one banner, to demonstrate the strength of support for the cause and our determination to win the fight for self determination”.

They went on: “AUOB demonstrations galvanise the movement and empower activists, and are open to anyone who supports Scotland becoming an independent country.

“AUOB demonstrations make support for Scotland's cause highly visible and audible, keeping Scottish independence alive and well.

“AUOB demonstrations attract international attention, bringing global focus onto the struggle to free Scotland from London rule.”

The group said that any funding raised would help to pay for stage provision and a sound system, generator hire, on-site toilet facilities, site barriers, steward vests and equipment, first aid vests and equipment, and promotional flyers.

“Should we exceed the target amount, the surplus funds will go towards next year's operational costs,” the group added.
