A leading pro-Harris super PAC, Future Forward, has unveiled plans for a significant campaign to criticize Donald Trump's tax policies. The group announced that it will spend $35 million on a new ad, the largest amount allocated for an ad by the organization, targeting seven crucial battleground states and national airwaves.
The ad features a Pennsylvania voter named 'Buddy' reacting to a video of Trump at a lavish 2023 fundraiser at Mar-a-Lago, where Trump praises the wealth of his guests and promises tax cuts for the wealthy. In the clip, Trump is heard saying, 'I know about 20 of you, and you’re rich as hell,' which prompts Buddy to express his disagreement. He emphasizes that the tax breaks should benefit working-class individuals like himself, not the already affluent 1%.
Buddy asserts his support for Kamala Harris, stating that she will ensure billionaires pay their fair share while cutting taxes for working people. The ad strategically contrasts images of billionaire Elon Musk and Trump mingling with wealthy supporters with scenes of Buddy performing everyday tasks like pumping gas in his neighborhood.
Since President Joe Biden exited the race on July 22, Future Forward PAC has been the most significant contributor to the Harris campaign, having spent over $130 million on pro-Harris advertising. The super PAC is poised to run an additional $200 million worth of ads from tomorrow until Election Day, solidifying its commitment to supporting Harris's candidacy.
