Pro Football Focus names bold prediction for Ravens in 2022

The Baltimore Ravens dealt with a plethora of injuries in 2021, which included quarterback Lamar Jackson. They ended up missing the playoffs, and a big reason why was due to the amount of injuries to star players on the team. When healthy, the Ravens are one of the more dominant teams in the NFL, and their track record proves it.

In an article by Sam Monson of Pro Football Focus, he named bold predictions for every AFC North team ahead of the 2022 season. When it came to Baltimore, Monson predicted that the team would win the AFC North title. When explaining his reasoning, Monson said that a healthy Ravens team would make them one of the best in the conference, let alone the division.

“The playoff race in the AFC last year was a wild ride, and Baltimore was the No. 1 seed in the AFC until injuries finally started to take their toll and drag the team down. The Ravens’ backfield was decimated before the season even began, and the secondary took a real beating late in the year — not to mention losing Lamar Jackson for some time. The Ravens were overtaken in the pecking order when those injuries began to mount, but a healthy roster again puts them right back among the favorites in the AFC, let alone the division. Baltimore is the obvious choice for this year’s worst-to-first candidate in terms of standings.”

It’s no surprise why Baltimore would be a favorite to win the division, despite one of their rivals making the Super Bowl last season in the Cincinnati Bengals. The team has plenty of talent on all sides of the ball, and if they can manage to have limited injuries in 2022 they can make the championship run that some expected they could make in 2021.
