Taylor Swift and Matty Healy were snapped enjoying a date at a swanky private members' club, despite the venue having a strict no-picture policy.
The regulars who took the photos at Casa Cipriani, a $4,000-per-year (£3,190) private members club, have now faced serious repercussions.
The New York club has reportedly revoked at least three memberships following the incident as they clamped down on their strict rules.
Matty and Taylor caused an online frenzy when pictures of them at Casa Cipriani surfaced on social media.
The Shake It Off hitmaker looked elegant as she wore a yellow floral dress and pulled her hair back into a loose bun.
Rockstar Matty wore a black suit and white shirt and was seen holding hands with Taylor as they headed inside the exclusive venue.
Confirming the fact three memberships were revoked, a source said Taylor "came knowing the policy" but then had to leave the club because of the intrusive pictures.
They said Casa Cipriani is now "cracking down like crazy", telling Page Six : "It wasn't even the member. It was their guest. And their membership was still revoked."
The publication also reported that a memo has since been sent to remaining members to remind them of their policies.
It stated: "It has come to our attention that images have been captured at the club in recent days that have infringed upon the privacy of our members.
"It is important to note that any member who violates these policies will face immediate revocation of their membership."
Taylor and Matty have since been spotted spending time at a New York recording studio together.
Rumours have been circulating about the new romance after Taylor split from her British actor boyfriend Joe Alwyn earlier this year.
Taylor and Matty were first linked earlier this month when a source told The Sun : "It's super-early days, but it feels right. They first dated, very briefly, almost ten years ago but timings just didn't work out."
The source clarified there was no crossover with her British actor ex Joe as the couple split in February earlier this year.
