A prisoner squirted a shower gel bottle full of urine at two prison officers in a "foul attack."
Kyle Binns was serving a prison sentence for a "shocking" and "unprovoked" attack at Hindley Prison in Wigan, when he was placed in segregation. Katie Jones and Adam Chesney both worked as prison officers in that unit at the time, with Ms Jones having previously put Binns on 'report.'
Prosecution barrister Jack Troup told Bolton Crown Court how Ms Jones was doing the rounds at the prison on July 31 2021, when Binns told her: "Watch what happens. I'm not a little muppet. I'll get things done", the MEN reports.

Later that day, around 7pm, Ms Jones and Mr Chesney visited the prisoners' cells to offer them water before they locked up for the evening. When they opened the observation panel of Binns' cell, he reached his hand through and squeezed a shower gel bottle filled with urine over Ms Jones and Mr Chesney.
Binns, who already has 23 convictions for 58 offences, pleaded guilty to two counts of administering a poison or noxious substance with intent.
Defending Binns, David Livingstone Bruce admitted it was a "serious matter" with a "degree of preparation". In mitigation, he referenced Binns' young age and a support network of his mum, brother and sister, who he still lives with.
Sentencing Binns, of no fixed abode, the Honorary Recorder of Bolton Judge Martin Walsh said: "They were just doing their job and this was a foul and odious attack upon them."
Walsh sentenced Binns to nine months imprisonment in a young offender institution. The sentence will start after the eight month sentence that he is currently serving for breaching a court order.
