Priscilla Presley wished to be buried next to Elvis upon her death, but her request was reportedly denied.
The 77-year-old ex-wife of “The King” wanted to spend eternity by his side, according to TMZ. Her wish was said to have been briefly discussed during negotiations over the estate of Lisa Marie, but her request was not granted.
TMZ says Priscilla’s request to lay alongside the singer on his Graceland property in Memphis was a nonstarter in the settlement resolved privately on Tuesday. Elvis is currently buried between his parents, meaning the approval of Priscilla’s request would likely mean that one of them would have to be moved.
The Brooklyn native told the outlet that she still hopes to be laid to rest at Graceland, next to her daughter, who was buried on the property in January.
Priscilla and granddaughter Riley Keough have been engaged in an ongoing battle over the estate of Lisa Marie, who died in January from cardiac arrest. The 54-year-old scion left a trust totaling tens of millions of dollars to Keough, while Priscilla was allegedly cut out of the inheritance. Priscilla challenged her omission, saying an amendment that removed her from the trust was illegitimate.
Despite the legal drama, Priscilla reportedly walked away with millions of dollars in Tuesday’s settlement.
