Princess of Wales delivers a masterclass in walking through mud in heels on trip to Scarborough

The Princess of Wales didn’t let a little bit of mud dictate her fashion choices as she put her best high heeled-foot forward during a royal engagement in Scarborough on Thursday.

Kate, 40, appeared typically stylish in a camel-coloured overcoat worn over a similar coloured outfit.

Meanwhile, her husband, Prince William, also 40, sported a burgundy jumper and blue shirt under a blue jacket.

The royal couple were in the North Yorkshire resort to engage with local organisations who will benefit from funding which has been created from a collaboration between The Royal Foundation of The Prince and Princess of Wales and the Two Ridings Community Foundation.

The Princess of Wales could be seen navigating soft ground in her lofty heels as she greeted well-wishers (PA)

Kate smiled as she navigated soft ground to get to well-wishers at the first venue, The Street, which is a community hub supporting local organisations to grow and develop their services.

Later, at The Rainbow Centre, William and Kate, listened to the stories of people who were being helped by the open door support it provides to anyone in need in the town.

As the couple toured the centre, they stopped to talk to nursery children who showed them their playdough creations.

The future King then pretended to tuck into a yellow “sausage” presented to him by one of the youngsters, much to their delight.
