Princess Beatrice’s private wedding ceremony last week couldn’t have been more different from her sister, Princess Eugenie’s more traditional royal wedding in 2018.
But Eugenie, 30, was right by her big sister’s side, and she just shared a tribute to Beatrice, 31, and her new husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, on Instagram.
“Couldn't Bea happier (get it),” Eugenie joked as she posted a series of photos from the big day also shared by the Royal Family account.
“What a complete joy and privilege to watch you, my beautiful big sister, walk down the aisle to dear Edo,” she began. “I am so proud of you and I’m so excited to support you in the next chapter of your life. We are going to have so much fun together,” Eugenie wrote, wishing Beatrice and Edoardo a happy wedding day.
Princess Beatrice and Mozzi had initially planned a larger wedding for May 29 at St. James' Palace in London, followed by a reception at the Queen's gardens at Buckingham Palace.
The pandemic forced the couple to cancel their plans. And their July 17 nuptials in Windsor reportedly included only around 20 guests - among them, Beatrice’s father, Prince Andrew, grandparents, the Queen and Prince Philip, and her sister, Eugenie.
While Princess Eugenie didn’t share more details from Beatrice’s big day, the sisters have always been hugely supportive of one another. In 2018, Beatrice served as maid of honor at Eugenie’s wedding to Jack Brooksbank, and when Beatrice became engaged in 2019, Eugenie took the couple’s announcement photos.
“Beabea - wow,” Eugenie posted at the time, addressing her sister by her nickname. “I’m so happy for you my dearest big sissy and dear Edo. It’s been a long time coming and you two are meant to be.”
