Princess Charlotte wears tiny pin in sweet tribute for the Queen at funeral

Princess Charlotte joined senior royals at the Queen's funeral today - and paid tribute to her great-grandmother by wearing a sweet pin badge.

The seven-year-old walked behind the late monarch's coffin with her nine-year-old brother Prince George and her parents the Prince and Princess of Wales. She dressed in all black and wore a formal hat for the first time at the official state service.

And pinned to her coat was a small and delicate badge with a nod to one of the Queen's loves, the Mirror reports. The badge was shaped as a horseshoe - with horses being a great passion of the late Queen - and Charlotte herself known to be learning how to ride.

Before the procession, George and Charlotte travelled to Westminster Abbey in the same car as the Queen Consort, with mum Kate arriving with them. It's the first time the two young royals have been seen in public since the death of their beloved great-grandmother, who they heartwarmingly called 'Gan Gan'.

As the pair were greeted at the doors, Royal fans were instantly overcome with emotion. @PattyFrancoS tweeted: "Seeing Charlotte and George and I started crying again. My heart." @mummabear99 wrote: "Awww Prince George and Princess Charlotte [broken heart emoji] what an enormous day for them. #queensfuneral." @KarenF040383 commented: "I was holding it together until I saw prince George and Princess Charlotte with Catherine #thequeensfuneral."

George and Charlotte then walked through the gothic church with the royal family, in procession behind the Queen’s coffin as it is carried by the military bearer party. Their grandfather, the King with the Queen Consort were immediately behind the coffin, followed by the Princess Royal and Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, then the Duke of York, followed by the Earl and Countess of Wessex, and then the Prince and Princess of Wales.

George and Charlotte, were together, behind their parents, walking side-by-side in formation, followed by their uncle and aunt the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, and other members of the royal family.
