Princess Charlotte shares touching moment with Prince Harry as they say final goodbyes to Queen Elizabeth II

Princess Charlotte shared a heart-wrenching moment with her uncle, Prince Harry, as the royal family said their final farewells to Queen Elizabeth II at St George's Chapel this afternoon.

Charlotte, seven, and her older brother Prince George, nine, arrived at the gothic chapel in Windsor alongside their mother, the Princess of Wales and Queen Consort Camilla - while their grandfather, King Charles III and dad Prince William walked behind the late monarch's coffin.

During the service itself, Charlotte sat in between her mum Kate and uncle Harry, who had his wife Meghan Markle by his other side. At one point, Charlotte could be seen adjusting her hate, before looking over towards her uncle. Harry briefly glanced back, catching her aye, and smiled at the princess.

The Mirror reports that it was initially unknown as to whether or not George and Charlotte would walk in the procession, with their names not featuring in the official order of service. However, they took their places for their second role of the day in the committal service, seemingly following a decision made by their parents.

Earlier today, the two also attended the state funeral service at Westminster Abbey alongside their mum and dad, as well as 2,000 other congregators. In a truly daunting task, the two young royals saw first hand the widespread respect and admiration towards their great-grandmother.

So small in stature, the two appeared barely-visible, while flanked by their parents as the procession made its way carefully through the Abbey. In a change to the original formation where William and Kate were initially scheduled to walk in front of their youngsters, the parents opted to make the move either side, with Kate holding her daughter's hand.

It's understood the royal couple thought long and hard while having discussions with the children before deciding they would attend - and the young royals walked beside their parents as they followed the Queen's coffin into Westminster Abbey. Afterwards, the Queen's coffin was transferred to the State Hearse at Wellington Arch ahead of beginning its journey to Windsor for a committal ceremony later this afternoon - and Charlotte could be seen whispering to her big brother.

She appeared to tell George "you need to bow" when the Queen's coffin came past them.

Charlotte then brought back memories of her great-grandmother as she pointed with her finger, just like the Queen used to do. George did follow his sister's advice as he was seen bowing his head as a sign of respect to Her Majesty when her coffin began to drive off.
