A subtle gesture shown by Princess Charlotte to her great-grandmother, the Queen, demonstrates her caring side, according to one royal expert.
Judi James reckons the moment on the Buckingham Palace balcony in the closing moments of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations proved just how similar she is to her mum, Kate Middleton.
The youngster joined the monarch, Prince Charles, Camilla, her parents the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and her brothers George and Louis for the historic event following the People's Parade.
Judi told The Mirror : "Charlotte stood to attention and sang the anthem as confidently as Louis beside her but she again showed her empathetic, caring side.
"When Beatrice was sobbing uncontrollably during Prince Philip's memorial it was Charlotte who threw her a concerned glance, prompting Beatrice to smile to show she was ok.
"Here it was Charlotte throwing a similar look of caring concern to her great grandmother as the family sang the National Anthem.
"She seems to have inherited the trait from Kate, who stroked Louis constantly to keep him happy and who bent down to his height to talk to him once he had taken his place in the line-up."
The Queen has suffered from a range of mobility issues in recent months so missed engagements on Friday and Saturday, including the Epsom Derby and a Service of Thanksgiving, after the first day of the Jubilee celebrations left her in pain.
Judi also believes we learnt a lot about the Cambridge family through their engagements over the long weekend, which showed a relax side to the pair, who sang and danced along to the BBC's Party at the Palace concert.
She said: "William towered over the group but his smile of pride has been growing steadily throughout this weekend.
"His and Kate’s hard work with their children has clearly paid off.
"Not only have they been happy and playful with the Tindalls but they have also, in a very natural and spontaneous way, produced several PDAs to signal unity and strong bonding across the generations."
Princess Charlotte provided a number of adorable moments over the weekend, including her attempts to calm down her excited little brother during their carriage ride at Trooping the Colour.
She was also seen sharing a cute, intimate moment with mum Kate as they watched the Party at the Palace on Saturday night.
