Princess Beatrice’s wedding dress, which she borrowed from the Queen, is going on display at Windsor Castle tomorrow.
The public will be able to see the taffeta gown, designed by the Sir Norman Hartnell, in the state dining room.
Beatrice married property developer Edoardo Mozzi in July in a private ceremony at Windsor in July. She was loaned the dress by her grandmother, who first wore it in 1961 during a state visit to Rome.
Beatrice’s wedding shoes, by Valentino, and a replica of her bouquet are also in the display.
The ivory dress is made from Peau De Soie taffeta, and is trimmed with ivory Duchess satin. According to a release from Buckingham Palace, the dress also features organza sleeves, diamanté adornments, and a checkered, geometric bodice.
Global shopping platform Lyst noted that searches for the term "vintage wedding dress" surged by up 297 per cent in the 48 hours following the nuptials.
The special display of Princess Beatrice’s wedding dress is part of a visit to Windsor Castle from 24 September to 22 November 2020.
