Princess Andre 'screamed so loud' as the family house was struck by lightning

Peter Andre recalled the moment he heard his daughter Princess scream in horror after their house was struck by lightning.

Bricks flew off the house and the entire property "went white" after it was hit, but thankfully no one was hurt.

Speaking at the Pride of Britain Awards, Peter spoke about how the house "shook" during the terrifying ordeal.

"Princess' scream was so loud! I've never known lightning to hit where I've been before," he told The Mirror.

"The whole house went white, the whole house shook, she screamed loud and I didn't know what happened!

"I ran out to try and find her and then we ran out to try and see these bricks had fallen off," he explained.

Peter, who moved from Australia to the UK in the 1990s, said that when he was living down under the approach to storms was very different.

"Normally in Australia I'd go swimming - in thunderstorms we'd go swimming in the sea and they used to say don't do that, don't be stupid. And now I'm thinking, after yesterday, I'm going to stay indoors!"

Taking to Instagram, Pete showed fans the damage on his huge property.

"Ok the house has been struck by lightning. Flipping heck... holy heck," he said as he zoomed in on the chimney which had been nearly completely destroyed.

He wrote in the caption: "Our house just got struck by lightning. The loudest thing I’ve ever heard. Alarms going off. This is mad. Thank god princess is ok. Although don’t know what was louder , her scream or the roof."

Peter was joined by Junior and Princess at the Pride of Britain Awards in London this evening.

He shares Princess and Junior with his ex wife Katie Price. Princess, 15, looked incredible in a floor-length lace gown as she embraced her natural curls.

Despite his wife Emily not being able to make it, the Mysterious Girl singer was still set on having a good time.

"We've been coming every year, it's such a special occasion. Now the guys are older they can come with us because obviously they were too young before. It's great. Emily couldn't be here tonight, we're still here," he said.

The annual awards, which have taken place since 1999 in association with The Prince’s Trust, is considered one of the most heartwarming and emotional nights of the year.

Every year, several well-known faces from celebrities, politicians and sports icons come together to celebrate the bravery and selflessness of the winners.

"There are so many unsung heroes and I think a lot of times people get left out. People don't acknowledge what other people do and that's why I love events like these," Pete gushed.

"[That's] what I love about the United Kingdom - they get together, they really thank people."
