Prince William is scheduled to meet with US President-elect Donald Trump in Paris on Saturday, as confirmed by Kensington Palace. The meeting will take place during their visit to the French capital for the reopening of the Notre Dame Cathedral, which suffered significant damage in a devastating fire back in 2019.
After more than five years of extensive restoration efforts, the iconic Parisian landmark is set to be officially reopened this Saturday. Prince William will be representing the United Kingdom at the reopening ceremony, according to the palace's statement. Additionally, he is expected to have a meeting with US first lady Jill Biden, whom he last encountered at the coronation of his father, King Charles III, in London last year.
This upcoming meeting between Prince William and President-elect Trump will mark their first encounter since Trump's state visit to the UK in 2019. Notably, this trip to Paris will be Trump's inaugural overseas visit following his re-election to a second term in office last November.
