A smiling Prince William has broken cover and been seen for the first time since the release of his brother Prince Harry ’s bombshell memoir Spare.
He was spotted in a car chatting with his wife the Princess of Wales as they left Windsor as they are due at a community engagement in Merseyside later today.
It is his first engagement of the year and comes after his brother's words have sparked headlines for days due to claims he was attacked by him and also divulged conversations between Kate and Harry's wife Meghan Markle.
Kate was seen for the first time yesterday, when she was pictured driving home from dropping Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis off at school.
She looked pensive as she sat behind the wheel, dressed in a brown coat and scarf.
Meanwhile, it seems the royals will be out in force today as Harry's father King Charles has travelled to Aberdeenshire to visit the Aboyne and Mid-Deeside Community Shed to tour its new facilities and meet local hardship support groups.
During the King’s Scottish engagement he wore a kilt and was pictured in good spirits as he met wellwishers, who brought along their dogs.
At the home of the Aboyne Men’s Shed workshop, Charles was set to watch craft skills in action, including wood and stone carving, and meet the men who gather there weekly.
He was also expected to meet representatives from other charities and voluntary groups, including the Inverurie-based Aberdeenshire North Foodbank, Gordon Rural Action and Young at Heart Deeside.
Also carry out engagements this week has been Princess Anne, who has been in Cyprus meeting British Forces Personnel and their families.
Tipped by industry experts to be one of the year’s biggest books, Spare contains a series of revelations about royal life.
According to the publisher, the English language edition of Spare sold more than 1,430,000 units in all formats and editions in the United States, Canada and the UK on January 10 when it first hit bookshop shelves.
King Charles' appearance today comes after he, William and Kate are said to be putting on a united front after the release of the book.
They have told aides it is “business as usual” and sources said the senior royals would not be reacting to the tell-all book.
A royal source said: “The message is it’s very much business as usual. There’s lots to look forward to so the focus is on supporting communities and not being distracted, that’s best for everyone.”
Meanwhile, as Harry continued a run of high profile promotional interviews, he said he “would like nothing more” than for his children to have relationships with the royal family.
His remarks about his son and daughter came despite the criticism he has levelled at his brother William, father Charles and stepmother Camilla.
