Ahead of the Queen's state funeral on Monday, the world has been looking back over the monarch's incredible life and sharing wonderful memories from her 70 years on the throne. Many people were shocked by her death and have been in a period of mourning since the sad news was announced.
Members of the Royal Family have been coming together in their grief following Queen Elizabeth II's death, with Prince William recently telling one wellwisher not to cry, as it would make him cry. The Prince of Wales has spoken fondly of his grandmother over the years and told of how close she was with him, his wife Kate and their three children.
A comment from William, from an interview with Sky's Rhiannon Mills to mark the Queen's 90th birthday, has recently resurfaced as he shared his grandmother's love for her great-grandchildren.
During the interview, the Duke of Cornwall and Cambridge admitted that she had been particularly fascinated by his daughter, Princess Charlotte.
He said: "She puts family very much alongside her duty and her role and it's what really makes her tick.
"She works very hard and she sees her service as very important, but behind closed doors she worries and minds an awful lot about the rest of the family, and wants to make sure everyone is happy and finding their own path and being a success.
"She's always been extremely loving towards the children and I see that now with Charlotte and George, she's very doting on the children, and likes to keep an eye on them, particularly Charlotte, she's fascinated by what Charlotte gets up to."
Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, has also previously told of how the Queen cared deeply for her children and would always spoil the little ones whenever they came to visit, leaving a little gift or treat in their room for them.
She said: "She always leaves a little gift or something in their room when we go and stay, and that just shows her love for her family."
The Queen had 12 great-grandchildren and eight grandchildren at the time of her death, aged 96.
Her grandchildren include Peter Phillips, Zara Tindall, Prince William, Prince Harry, Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie, Lady Louise Windsor and James, Viscount Severn.
The monarch also left behind her four children, King Charles, Anne, the Princess Royal, Andrew, Duke of York and Edward, Earl of Wessex.
