Prince William's savage response at Kate Middleton's attempt at learning a new skill

As they travel up and down the UK and across the world, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge get to meet a wide range of people - and try out various new things.

Whether it's dancing in Belize, playing the drums in Jamaica or making cakes in Wales - they've tried it all.

But Kate's attempt at a new skill when the couple visited Scotland last year did not go down well with her husband Prince William - and he made a rather savage joke about it.

It came when the pair were at a violence reduction centre in East Lothian and they swung by the group's partner organisation Heavy Sound, which provides music, creative arts and sports activities in underprivileged areas.

Here, Kate, had a go a becoming a DJ and leaned over the DJ turntable to help a musician put together a tune.

But when she added a smattering of synth and a strange whining sound, the room burst into laughter.

Despite her instructor saying that Kate's effort is 'pretty good', William quipped that it's "hurting my ears" and "sounds like a cat".

And it prompted Kate to say: "Sorry for leaving such a terrible song. Delete it, delete it!'

William and Kate are currently in the middle of an eight-day tour of the Caribbean and have so far visited Belize and Jamaica.

Later today, they will be heading to the Bahamas for the final leg of the tour before flying home on Saturday.

Three people who have been eager to track their progress on their travels are their children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

The youngsters have not joined their mum and dad on the tour and instead have stayed at home.

But at a reception on Monday, William revealed the sweet way that their children have been keeping up with them - and it appears George is in charge of it.

William explained that George has been sticking pins in a world map of each of the destinations his parents have visited and then sharing the information with both Charlotte and Louis.

He said: "We let them know where we are and he finds us on the map and puts a pin in it and shares with the others."
