Prince William's old school to open a new secondary in London

The London pre-prep school attended by Princes William and Harry will open a private secondary school next year.

The group that runs Wetherby School in Notting Hill, where alumni include Princes William and Harry as well as Romeo and Cruz Beckham, is to open Wetherby Pembridge, a co-educational senior school in September 2025.

The new school will have places for 475 pupils aged 11 to 18 and will open in Kensington Olympia.

Wetherby Pembridge, run by private schools group Inspired Education, will be “built upon the heritage and quality offered at Inspired’s renowned Wetherby School” a spokeswoman said, and its sister girls’ school Pembridge Hall.

The spokeswoman for the secondary school said fees have not been finalised yet. It costs around £30,000 a year to attend Wetherby School and Pembridge Hall.

She added: “The co-educational day school will inspire and nurture future citizens of the world, whilst preserving the sought-after, proven traditions of Wetherby and Pembridge Hall Schools.”

Nick Page, a former deputy headmaster at Harrow School and Westminster School, has been appointed headmaster.

He said: “I am looking forward to instilling and fostering a culture of respect, kindness, resilience and ambition at Wetherby Pembridge, where students will develop the skills and values to excel in an ever-changing world wherever their future takes them.”
