To Prince William, she will always be Simply the Best.
The Queen of Rock 'n' Roll Tina Turner has died at the age of 83 following a long illness at her home in Switzerland.
The heir to the throne has previously admitted to being a huge fan of the singing sensation after claiming to listen to the star's endless hits to keep alive the memories of his beloved mum Princess Diana.
In an interview in December 2021, William admitted to having a soft spot for the US legend's 1989 cover of Bonnie Tyler's The Best.
Beaming about cracking up the tunes, William, 40, said the track reminds him of childhood, where he would reminisce a "real family moment" driving to school with mum Diana and brother Harry.
Speaking on Apple audio experience Time To Walk, William told listeners that the trio would listen to a variety of songs on the school run.
In order to ease the nerves of going back to boarding school, his mother would crack up the tunes - with one song, in particular, having stuck with him throughout the years.
He explained: "When I was younger, Harry and I, we were at boarding school. And my mother used to play all sorts of songs to kind of while away the anxiety of going back to school.

"And one of the songs I massively remember and has stuck with me all this time, and I still, to this day, still quite enjoy secretly, is Tina Turner's 'The Best' because sitting in the backseat, singing away, it felt like a real family moment.
"And my mother, she'd be driving along, singing at the top of her voice. And we'd even get the policeman in the car, he’d be occasionally singing along as well.
"You'd be singing and listening to the music right the way out into the gates of school when they dropped you off. When I listen to it now, it takes me back to those car rides and brings back lots of memories of my mother."
The What's Love Got To Do With It singer, real name Anna Mae Bullock, died peacefully on Wednesday in her adopted homeland near Zurich near Switzerland.
Tina's spokesman confirmed she died "peacefully" at home and added: "With her, the world loses a music legend and a role model. With her music and her inexhaustible vitality, Tina Turner thrilled millions of fans and inspired many artists of subsequent generations."
Her official Instagram added: "It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Tina Turner. With her music and her boundless passion for life, she enchanted millions of fans around the world and inspired the stars of tomorrow.
