Prince William pays tribute to Kate's 'remarkable strength' in past year as she celebrates her 43rd birthday

Prince William has led the tributes to the Princess of Wales on her 43rd birthday.

The heir to the throne took to social media platform X, formerly Twitter, to share a touching message for Kate in which he praised the strength she showed in a year in which she battled cancer.

Alongside a new black and white image of the smiling royal, he penned: “To the most incredible wife and mother. The strength you’ve shown over the last year has been remarkable. George, Charlotte, Louis and I are so proud of you.”

Signing off: “Happy Birthday, Catherine. We love you. W.”

King Charles and Queen Camilla were also sure to send their best wishes online.

Posting a picture of Kate holding a bouquet of flowers that was taken following the Christmas Day morning church service at St Mary Magdalene Church in Sandringham, Norfolk, last December, they penned: “Happy Birthday to the Princess of Wales!”

They signed off the post with a birthday cake emoji topped with candles.

The significant date in the calendar comes just months after Kate announced that she had finished her chemotherapy treatment for cancer and she is reportedly planning on having a low-key celebration this year.

Traditionally, the princess celebrates her birthdays with William and their children Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six, at their Norfolk home, Anmer Hall.

The family typically stays in Norfolk for the first few weeks of the new year after celebrating the holidays at Sandringham before heading back to their full-time home in Windsor, Adelaide Cottage.

Anmer Hall is also ideal for entertaining a roster of royal guests in a country getaway setting, and Kate reportedly hosted the Middleton family at a small holiday party separate from King Charles and Queen Camilla’s bigger bash this past December.

According to Hello! Magazine however, Kate has opted to head home early to Adelaide Cottage and enjoy her birthday there.

The reasoning is not known, but it could be to do with the children all heading back to school.
