Prince William makes rare TV appearance on Lorraine for sweet Deborah James tribute

Prince William shared a message in support of Lorraine's No Butts campaign on Thursday's show as he urged viewers to take note of the signs and symptoms of the disease.

Prince William, who has supported the No Butts campaign previously alongside Dame Deborah James, said: “Hi Lorraine, I just want to say a big thank you to you and your team for all you’re doing to raise awareness around bowel cancer through your No Butts campaign.

“As you know I got to meet Dame Deborah, so I know how important this was to her. 46,000 people each year get diagnosed with bowel cancer and yet many of us don’t know the signs and symptoms of bowel cancer, particularly in us men.

“So if you’re watching this, please take a second to listen and learn about the signs and symptoms of bowel cancer, it could save your life.”

Radio 1’ DJ Adele Roberts also joined Lorraine Kelly in the studio to share an update on her journey recovering from bowel cancer and her plans to break the record for the fastest run at the London Marathon with a stoma.

She said: “I’m doing much better than the last time I saw you. I’m starting to just get my life back together and just trying to get a little bit fitter, doing a little run this weekend [The London Marathon].”

“Funnily enough, the day after the marathon I’ve got a CT scan just to check that everything's okay and the cancer’s not come back."

She continued: "But I just wanted to do the marathon to reiterate what Dame Deborah said ‘Rebellious Hope.' And I feel like it’s my way of standing up to the cancer and just saying ‘No more please, I’ve had enough!’

“My stoma Audrey, she’s a big fan of yours Lorraine. I was trying to find tips online for training with a stoma because it’s very different but I couldn’t really find much information.

"And I just thought I’d see if anybody's ever set a Guinness World Record and they hadn't, so we’re gonna go for it!”

Lorraine airs weekdays at 9am on ITV1 & ITVX.
