Royal experts say seeing the Prince, Princess, Duke and Duchess all together today is a "strong sign of unity" in these sad times and is particularly noteworthy as the The Princess of Wales and Duchess of Sussex did not attend Balmoral when the Queen was taken ill on Thursday. With this in mind, this is the first time the family members have been seen publicly together since the sad news of the Queen's passing. Indeed, the last time the group were seen together publicly was earlier this year at the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

The appearance comes as the Queen's coffin is due to leave Balmoral at 10am on Sunday, where a procession will head through Scotland to Edinburgh.

Crossing the Queensferry Crossing and heading into the city centre through the west of Edinburgh, the Queen will be taken to the Palace of Holyroodhouse, before a further procession to St Giles' on Monday, September 12.
