The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge look set to swap life in the capital for a new home in Berkshire, it seems. Reports suggest that Prince William and Kate Middleton could be moving to a house on the Queen's Windsor estate - and could be moving as soon as this summer.
The royal couple would be leaving behind Kensington Palace, their main place of residence since 2017, if they made the move and, according to The Sunday Times, they look set to take their eight-year-old son Prince George and daughter Princess Charlotte, 7, out of their current prep school in Battersea at the end of the school year. Prince Louis, who is now four, would then join his older siblings at a new school in Berkshire in September.
These reports come ahead of Prince William's 40th birthday this week, which the royal is reported to be finding 'daunting'.

Prior to their move to Kensington Palace in 2017, William and Kate moved from their country home, Anmer Hall, in Norfolk which they will retain and continue to use 'regularly', according to reports. Likewise, this time round, the pair will reportedly keep their Kensington Palace property as their London home - their press team will remain in west London, too.
A friend of the family reportedly told the paper that Will and Kate eventually plan on moving back to their former Norfolk home on a more permanent basis - and after their children have gone through school. The friend is reported to have said: "They absolutely love it up there, it's their happy place."
However, this move to Windsor will mean the family will be closer to the Duchess of Cambridge's parents, the Middletons, who live a 45 minute car journey away in the village of Bucklebury. A permanent move to Windsor Castle itself has also been rumoured for many years and especially so since Prince Charles reportedly does not plan to spend as much time there when he becomes king, as Her Majesty the Queen, who has been spending much of her time at the Berkshire castle following the death of her beloved husband Prince Philip.
Previous reports suggest that the Prince of Wales plans to spend much of his time at Buckingham Palace during his reign, where many members of the family, including Prince William and Kate Middleton, appeared on the royal balcony during last weekend's Platinum Jubilee celebrations. Prince Louis stole the show, however, when he was snapped pulling faces during the event.
