Prince William and Kate Middleton have 'no plans' to see Harry and Meghan during US trip

The Prince and Princess of Wales reportedly have "no plans" to meet up with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle - despite both couples visiting the US east coast in the space of days.

William and Catherine are due to fly into Boston on Wednesday ahead of the Prince's Earthshot Prize awards on Friday. The special awards were founded by William in a bid to discover and scale up environmental solutions to repair the planet. It is said that it will be the prince's 'Super Bowl' moment, as per the Mirror.

Just days later on the following Tuesday, Prince Harry and Meghan will be accepting an honour at the Robert F. Kennedy Ripple of Hope Awards in New York.

The couples were last seen side by side at the Queen's funeral in September and it looked like they had patched things up. However, according to the Daily Mail, there appears to be no plans to meet up.

Meanwhile, the Telegraph reports that a source says William and Kate's team is 'highly cognisant' of Meghan and Harry they are "not scared of their shadows on this".

It comes after it announced that singer Billie Eilish will headline the awards ceremony at the MGM Music Hall in Boston with Scottish singer Annie Lennox and Ellie Goulding following.

A royal source said: “The prize has become the prince’s Super Bowl moment of the year, and he looks forward to continuing to use the platform each year to shine a light on some of the most impactful projects doing amazing things around the world to save our planet’s future.”

Among the 15 finalists vying for £1 million awarded to each of the five category winners are a cleaner-burning stove initiative in Kenya and a bubble barrier made in the Netherlands to prevent plastics from entering oceans.

Broadcaster Sir David Attenborough, a supporter of the Earthshot Prize since its inception, will voice the opening of the show while Oscar-winning actress and Earthshot judging panel member Cate Blanchett will narrate a look back at the 2021 winners.

The Prince and Princess of Wales are also keen to meet members of many local communities during their visit to a city famed for its Irish community, sporting heritage and history.

The couple is said to be excited about their first international trip since becoming the Prince and Princess of Wales, titles with a long history, but they are keen to forge their own paths.
