Prince William and Kate issue touching 'goodbye' to the Queen

The Prince and Princess of Wales issued a touching tribute to the Queen. The monarch was laid to rest in London today as thousands lined the streets to say their farewell.

After the state funeral, the Royal Family whisked away to privately say their goodbyes in Windsor. The final stage of a day-long tribute to the Queen.

The late sovereign was laid to rest at King George VI Memorial Chapel during a third and final service of the day. The Queen will lie alongside her late husband, the Duke of Edinburgh.

Now, the Prince and Princess of Wales have taken to social media to share a touching tribute to Prince William's grandmother. It reads: "Goodbye to a Queen, a mother, a grandmother and a great grandmother."

The Prince and Princess of Wales attended today's funeral with their two eldest children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte. The young princess is said to have paid tribute to her grandmother by wearing a small badge as a nod towards her loved one.

A number of Royal Family members have today paid tribute to the late monarch. Earlier in the day, a card could be seen among the flowers, written by King Charles III, it stated: “In loving and devoted memory. Charles R.”
