‘Prince: The Immersive Experience’ debuts in Chicago soon

CHICAGO — Prince will be at the center of a new walk-through attraction in Chicago, opening soon on Michigan Avenue. “Prince: The Immersive Experience” will have its world premiere June 9, according to an announcement Wednesday, put on by Superfly in partnership with the Prince Estate.

Tickets ($39.50 and up) go on sale 10 a.m. March 31 at PrinceTheExperience.com.

Presenters are betting on the late musician still being able to pull in a crowd: The experience is described as 10 different spaces, each devoted to a different part of “Prince’s life, creative evolution, and original sound.” Rooms will be devoted to the “Purple Rain” album cover, the Paisley Park workspace Studio A, and an audiovisual dance party designed by Prince’s lighting designer Roy Bennett. Also see wardrobe pieces, photography and instruments.

Superfly previously put on “The Friends Experience” and “The Office Experience” in Chicago.
